More Bomb Threats In Springfield, Despite No Criminal Charges, Raising More Questions
SPRINGFIELD - Days after a federal judge unconstitutionally issued a pause on the Federal Government's planned deportation of thousands of Haitian migrants from the city, and said administration’s baffling adherence to it, more bomb threats have been received by the city, leading to widespread shutdowns and still no federal charges or arrests, leading many to question what is actually transpiring in the city.
During a coincidently timed visit from the current Governor, Mike DeWine, Springfield was forced to shut down schools and government buildings due to received bomb threats. Very little information was provided to the public regarding these threats outside of reports that they referenced the Haitian influx into the city, with Springfield News-Sun reporting the threats demanded “Haitians should be gone from Springfield.”
As often with these matters, the threats were determined to not be credible, with only vague information communicated to the public about the situation. In 2024, the city received reportedly 33 bomb threats they argued were aimed at harassing the Haitian population, yet despite what should have yielded Federal charges against whoever perpetrated these threats, hoax or not, the FBI field office in Cincinnati determined the threats originated from ‘overseas’ actors with strong inclinations to name ‘Russia’ as the perpetrator and no domestic criminal charges.
Quizzically, according to a civil lawsuit against The Blood Tribe, a radical ethnocentric group, Casey Rollins, Executive Director of St. Vincent De Paul, claimed that the group orchestrated a hacking of her personal email account and sent bomb threats from the account in 2024. Rollins argued this was part of a targeted harassment campaign by the group related to her work for the Haitian community. Despite these claims, there has been no indication the FBI connected any of the 33 bomb threats to the domestic group called The Blood Tribe, instead stating the threats came from ‘overseas.’
The investigation conducted in 2024 was done under the Cincinnati Field office of the FBI, under director Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Elena Iatarola. The current slate of threat allegations will be investigated under the new SAC, Jason Cromartie.
