Ohio Gubernatorial Candidate Wrapped UP In Georgia RICO Case
STATEWIDE - Recently resurging documents circulating social media reveal Ohio Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is currently involved in a racketeering case stemming from civil charges filed in 2024.
According to court documents, Vivek Ramaswamy and Peter Thiel are among several defendants named in a civil Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) lawsuit filed in Georgia in May 2024. The lawsuit was initiated by WPI Collateral Management, on behalf of secured creditors of the bankrupt "anti-woke" financial services startup GloriFi, and has since been joined by GloriFi's bankruptcy trustee.
Allegations posed in the court documents stated that the defendants engaged in a conspiracy involving defamation and intellectual property theft to gain control of GloriFi for their own benefit. The defendants are accused of launching a "blitzkrieg" campaign to make GloriFi uninvestable for anyone but themselves and that the defendants, including Ramaswamy and Thiel, stole GloriFi's proprietary intellectual property to benefit competitive companies they subsequently formed or invested in, ultimately leading to GloriFi's closure in 2022. In June 2025, a bankruptcy court ruled that Neugebauer could proceed with personal disparagement claims against these investors, including Ramaswamy, in federal court. The case is now currently proceeding through federal judiciary.
This case is not the first financial corruption case Ramaswamy has been embroiled with. Shareholders from the company Myovant initiated court proceedings in Bermuda in 2023 and demanded Ramaswamy explain how he arrived at the valuation of the Myovant shares, raising concerns it and other investors may have been shortchanged in a deal Ramaswamy signed off on. Ramaswamy famously used his presidential campaign as the season a subpoena would present 'undue burden.' The valuation suit with Myovant is separate from the allegations Vivek faced regarding an alleged 'pump and dump' scheme surrounding the faulty Alzheimer's medication RVT 101.
