Concord Smart Meters Secretly Installed By Third Party Company

BY NICK ROGERS

CONCORD - According to a Concord resident, a Smart meter was installed on her home without her knowledge or consent. After being met with polite ignorance from an energy company representative on the phone, a work call was scheduled, and the conversation she had with that man shed light on a disturbing trend that could affect all Ohio homeowners.

After attending a Lake County Liberty Coalition (LCLC) meeting which featured speaker John Uher illuminating his listeners on the health dangers of Smart meters, Sheila Leksan of Concord wondered if her and her husband’s recent onslaught of headaches and sleeping problems could be linked to the technology. It made no sense, however, as the Leksans never had a Smart meter installed on their home. At least so they thought…

Going with her gut instinct, Leksan and her husband went to investigate the meter on their house. To their dismay and utter surprise, they discovered a Smart meter had been installed without their knowledge or consent.

“After our group meeting last week, my husband and I grabbed a flashlight and went outside to our electric meter.  Much to our surprise there was a smart meter on our house.  We were never informed of this installation,” Leksan said in an email featured on the Lobbyist for Citizens (LFC) website.

Leksan called her energy provider, the Illuminating Company (owned by the corrupt FirstEnergy Corporation), but the representative told her that the account did not indicate any Smart meter had been installed. When Leksan insisted she was indeed looking at one with her own eyes, the representative scheduled a work order.

Leksan was never contacted again, but she happened to notice an Illuminating Company truck on her property days later.

“On Friday, I just happen to look out the window and there was a truck from the Illuminating company in the driveway,” Leksan said. “I went out and greeted the worker; a very nice man who’s name I will not mention due to the unsettling information that he shared with me.”

The information Leksan is referring to is something FirstEnergy would probably rather their employees not share with customers.

The employee – after confirming that the Leksans did, indeed, have a Smart meter on their home – told Leksan that the zip tie used as part of the installation indicated this was not an Illuminating Company job. The installation – according to the employee – was carried out by a third party.

Leksan, per information given to her by the employee, said “The meter was installed by a 3rd party company, not just on our home, but many in the Concord area.” Furthermore, Leksan was told that her area is “…part of a test group for the upcoming rollout in 2026.”

When asked how large this rollout was planned to be, the employee told Leksan he wasn’t sure but that it is “a significant number.”

“I asked him about all of the new construction going on in the area and he said that they are installing digital meters,” Leksan said.  “They will be part of the new rollout schedule.”

Leksan and her husband were understandably distraught by the shocking information, and they “…plan to pursue this beyond just getting the meter replaced.”

It behooves all Ohioans to educate ourselves on the dangers of Smart Meters, and it may just be worth a walk around the corner of the house to see if one has been installed without your knowledge or consent.
