Findlay Auditor Earns Finance Award

BY CAREY MORGAN

FINDLAY - Findlay Auditor Jim Staschiak was recently recognized with the GOA’s Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award, adding another State of Ohio award to his portfolio.

The Popular Annual Financial Reporting (PAFR) Award is a recognition given by the Government Finance Officers Association to governments that produce a clear, concise, and visually accessible summary of their annual financial report.

Unlike a full technical audit report, a PAFR is designed for the general public. To receive the award, a city must present accurate financial data in an easy-to-understand format, include summaries of key financial information, and ensure the report is consistent with its audited financial statements.

The award highlights transparency and public communication, recognizing governments that make their financial information more understandable to residents.

Jim Staschiak II, the longtime auditor for Findlay, has received multiple financial reporting honors through the Ohio Auditor of State during his tenure overseeing the city’s finances. The Award with Distinction is one of the highest audit recognitions issued by the state and is presented to governments that file timely financial reports and complete audits without significant findings, material weaknesses, or major compliance issues.
