‘Liberator List’ offers “Strong, Bold Conservative Leadership " for Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A new volunteer-driven effort called the Liberator List is aiming to help conservative candidates win Republican primaries in Ohio by creating a consistent, low-cost endorsement tool that builds name recognition among GOP voters.

The Liberator List is designed as “an effective and low cost way to promote conservative candidates during Republican Primaries, which occur every even year.” The initiative plans to use the same evaluation methodology in each primary cycle and promote the endorsed candidates through a dedicated website, social media and magnetic bumper stickers. Its stated goal is to develop a trusted “brand name” over time that helps conservatives prevail in contested races.

The organizations website, liberatorlist.com, describes a simple organizational structure: a four-member board representing people from across Ohio responsible for selecting candidates for the list, handling promotion and participating in evaluations. A seven-member research team supports the board by researching candidates and offering recommendations. Only Republican state-level races will be covered: the Republican State Central Committee, Ohio House, Ohio Senate and statewide offices. To conserve resources, the group will evaluate only races with more than one candidate.

Candidates will be scored on six main criteria: education, statesmanship/leadership/viability, character, field experience and responses to policy questions. Researchers will rely on questionnaires, social media reviews, internet searches and other publicly available information.

The current list released features the following candidates:
